Don’t Be Afraid To Try
If you’ve never exercised in a group setting, prepare for high energy and tons of encouragement. Kickboxing is a great way to relieve stress, so don’t hold back. The more you get into it, the more you get out of it. With that being said, you know your limits better than anyone else. It’s okay to take a break, grab water, and rejoin the class when you’re ready.

Properly Fuel Your Body
In your kickboxing workout, you’ll do a blend of cardio and strength training. To get the most out of your workout, be sure to eat a meal that gives you a sustainable amount of energy. Whole grains and vegetables or pre-workout drinks are excellent options. Stay away from sugary juices or fruit as they may only provide a short burst of energy.

It’s Mostly Learn as You Go
No matter which KickHouse kickboxing studio you visit, your instructor will familiarize you with each punch and kick combination before you’re pushed to your limits. Remember, your instructor’s job is to get you involved and motivate you to push yourself to the next level.

Water & Towel Are Essential
Be prepared to sweat—a lot! Your session will include isolation and stimulation of different muscle groups, and by the end of the workout, you’ll be drenched in sweat. Bringing a towel and water will keep the sweat off of your face and help you remain hydrated.

Don’t Worry About Equipment
You will need gloves for your first kickboxing workout. If you don’t already have them, we do offer them for sale at the studio. No additional equipment is needed.

Having Fun Is the Key
Walking into your first class can be pretty intimidating, but don’t let that stop you from having a good time. You may not have the highest kick or know all the moves, but if you give 100% effort, you’re doing it right. Kickboxing benefits are endless, but the most important one is having fun.
